October has arrived and Im just about ready to prep my monthly meals. I still have a few things left from September. Ill be cooking them up before I start my prepping. First, Id like to share a few of the recipes Ill be doing this month. They all have been a big hit. If you have a larger family, double the ingredients. I would actually double them anyways because they are bangin'! If everything doesnt get eaten which I would be shocked if they dont, add leftovers to a freezer bag and freeze for later use, then just heat!
Ok, heres a few things Ill be cooking up.
Lets start with Beef Stew. My oh my this is delish. I would double this one even if your feeding two. It goes VERRRRY quick. You will toss each ingredient into a gallon size freezer bag and mix as you go.
1 pound of beef cubes
4 diced carrots, frozen are just as good if you dont have fresh on hand
4 cubed potatoes, the canned ones will do as well
1 pack dry onion soup mix
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1 8oz can tomato sauce
1 10oz bag of frozen peas
Like said, toss ingredients in the freezer bag as you go. Then mix the freezer bag around.. Get as much air out as possible, flatten and freeze. When your ready to cook it. Put it in the fridge, let it thaw slightly. Its much easier to dump everything in the crockpot when its partially frozen. Break it up a little and dump in the crock pot on low, go about your day and come back in 8 hours to enjoy!
The next one on my list will have to be Beef Stroganoff. DOUBLE, DOUBLE, DOUBLE. This is personally my FAVORITE! My nephew himself ate three plates the last time I cooked it up. That explains something, Huh? Its delish.
Get your bag ready, and lable it with date. Throw the following ingredients right in then mix!
2 pounds beef cubes
4 cans golden mushroom soup
1 cup chopped onions, a few shakes of onion powder will do
2 tablespoons of worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup of water
1 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 packet of onion soup mix
Get all the air out of the bag, lay flat and freeze. Crock on low for 8 hours. Once its finished serve over cooked egg noodles.
Hmmm, whats next...
How about taco soup? Its a soupy time of the year. Lets go for it!
This recipe includes ground beef. Your going to cook it first, drain, rinse and add to the freezer bag.
1 pound COOKED ground beef
1 chopped onion
2 cans chili beans
1 can corn, drained
1 can tomato sauce
1 can rotel
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon of taco seasoning, buy a taco seasoning packet, keep whats left in the pantry so when its cooking you can add more if needed
Follow the same prepping instructions for the stew and stroganoff.
Cook on low for 8 hours. Serve with taco cheese and sour cream, hard taco shell, or doritos! Enjoy!
Well since we are in a soup kick. Heres Chicken Noodle Soup to add to the list.
2 cans chicken broth or 1 swanson container
1/2 cup chopped carrots, frozen ones will be fine
4 large boneless skinless chicken breasts, these will fall apart in the crock pot but I suggest chopping them up a bit
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon italian seasoning
salt and pepper to taste
roughly a cup of water, I normally add the water while its cooking so I am able to test taste, you dont want it to be watered down
Remove air, flatten, freeze. Crock on low for 8 hours. Cook up some egg noodles and add in when the soup is ready. Enjoy!
Up next.... Sweet N Sour Chicken.
You cant mess this one up, seriously its three ingredients!
Bl, sl chicken breasts or chopped. The amount of chicken depends on family size and how many pieces you want.
1 small jar of salsa
1 can crushed pineapple with the juice
THATS IT!
Get all the air out of bag, flatten and freeze. Crock on low for 8 hours. Serve over rice or noodles.
Each of these meals can also be cooked on high for 4 hours
Thats it for now, I shal be back with some more recipes!
Leave a comment and let me know which one you will be trying!
